I typically don’t participate in any of the goofy games or quizzes on facebook but, when my son posted that he was matched with Khan in a “Which Star Trek character are you?” quiz I couldn’t resist. First I did the Original Star Trek quiz and was told that I was:

So far so good. Then I took the Star Trek Next Generation quiz and I was told that I was:
Not bad, but he needs to practice the bulldog scowl a bit more
Hey, two for two. Then I went out on a limb and took the Hobbit quiz. This time they said I was:
Girls love the piercing eye look…not that I have any personal knowledge of that
So, I’m an Elf Engineer! I’m actually pretty good with that. A resourceful tinkerer who solves problems, points out the errors in other peoples ways, likes a good feast and doesn’t take crap from anyone…that’s me. But, I don’t know about the “unrequited love” thing. In my youth I looked pretty good in a ponytail. Probably going to have to have some work done on the ears though.
Despite that, I have to say that there is a small part of my grumpy side that might have liked being Khan Noonien Singh. Just once I’d like to be able to say to my greatest adversary,
“I’ll chase you ’round the moons of Nibia and ’round the Antares Maelstrom and ’round Perdition’s flames before I give you up! To the last, I will grapple with thee… from Hell’s heart, I stab at thee! For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee!”
Damn that sounds good. I’m going to have to start making a list of adversaries. I’ve been at this for forty years and it’s going to take a while to cull the list down to just one.
